Merry Christmas everyone! Just before the new year arrives, I thought I would give you a little update about some of the cakes I have been busy creating this festive season.
First up, here is the cute Christmas robin, which I created for the HSBC Christmas market, in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. This cute little chap was actually huge and very, very heavy as he was made completely from fruit cake, which was then covered with marzipan and fondant.
Here is a selection of mini cakes, cupcakes and cake truffles, which make excellent festive gifts – friends, colleagues, clients…or as delicious treats for yourself 🙂
My igloo and penguin cake proved very popular last year and I was delighted to have the opportunity to recreate it for someone else this year.
This next cake wasn’t your traditional rich fruit cake. It was actually made from light, moist chocolate cake with boozy sour cherries and chocolate buttercream. A delicious alternative I think, and a little lighter for after all that roast turkey!
And finally, for those who want something a little different at Christmas, how about the evil Robot Santa from Futurama to help you celebrate? If the way he has treated the Merry Christmas sign is anything to go by, you’ll be in for an action packed Christmas!
