After a flurry of email posts before, I have been a little slow in putting this one up but finally, here it is! Just over a week ago, I had the pleasure of providing the cupcakes for a very glamorous affair. Epernay Champagne Bar were launching their new summer menu and were throwing a Mad Men themed party to celebrate this. Cue jaunty trilbies, pencil skirts and lots of red lipstick.
In keeping with the champagne bar venue, I created champagne cupcakes; moist vanilla sponge with a swirl of bubbly champagne buttercream on top. The full sized cupcakes displayed the bar’s elegant logo, whilst the mini canape sized ones had sugar “bubbles” in pearl and gold.

Not only were the canape cupcakes circulated during the night, but we also ran a prize draw to win a dozen full sized, Epernay-branded champagne cupcakes. You can see an image of me with the winner, below, along with other great images from the night. Images courtesy of Carl Sukonik, The Vain Photography.
Ignoring the embarrassment of my photo (I will be thinking very carefully before I wear THAT dress again!), I thought I would draw you attention to the necklace I was wearing. It is a fabulous piece by Sarah of www.tiny-gems.co.uk. She originally put the necklace up for auction on Facebook, with bidding starting from just £1. However, you know you have something special when bids quickly soar well beyond this and more and more people get involved, which is just what happened here. As soon as I saw it, I fell in love with it and just had to have it. Luckily, after a lot of effort and desperate searching, Sarah managed to find some more of the beautiful rose beads so that more people could own one and the cat fight could end
I have now worn the necklace three times, and I’ve only owned it for just over a week! It is definitely a wardrobe staple that adds that extra something to any outfit. Love it! It is also great cake inspiration…so watch this space…
