Good morning! Today, I am thrilled to share some images from a stunning shoot that I was a part of at Brownsholme Hall, just outside Clitheroe. The shoot was organised by Laura from Perfect Choice Planning, and these amazing photos were taken by Alex from Alex Davies Photography. Not only are Alex’s images stunning, but when she sends the photoshoot pictures to you, everything is accompanied by beautiful stationery, which is always a pleasure to receive
The shoot was initially blogged by Claire of English Wedding, by Alex herself here, and by the lovely Jo from Simply Bows & Chair Covers here. All of these are well worth a read for more images from the day. A full list of the talent involved is listed at the bottom of this post.
Here is a lovely shot of the room, with the exposed brickwork and all of the fab table details. The whole feel of the barn was very dark and Gothic, so was the perfect location for a shoot of this style. Gorgeous!
I designed a birdcage-style cake for the shoot, using a really unusual black background with red and white detailing, for a stark, dramatic look. I included lace trims, filigree motifs, brush embroidery roses and blood red roses and flowers, which cascaded down the cake to soften the look.
To accompany the cake, I created mini black forest gateau style cakes, with chocolate ganache and baby figs. I wanted to create a feel of melting candles and also mirror the shape of the birdcage wedding cake with the figs, which I think worked really well.
There were also some extra treats in the form of cake pops. These hand-moulded heart shaped truffles were dipped in dark chocolate and white chocolate coloured red, and adorned with funky angel wings and tattoo-style banners.
The five petal flowers from the wedding cake were also repeated on little cookie favours in alternating red and white.
Finally, this is one of my favourite photos from the day. I love how you can get a real feel for the drama of the venue, and the model bride looks absolutely stunning surrounded by candles. A really beautiful shot and such a great idea!
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed the images from the shoot! Until next time,
